WW+KN at German-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce

Since some months WW+KN and the German-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce have been cooperating on the sector "German taxes". WW+KN consults Slovenian customers of the Chamber with tax affairs in Germany and also supports the Chamber in clearing general questions regarding tax obligations of Slovenian companies who would like to expand to Germany. In this context WW+KN attended an event of the Chamber in the Slovenian city of Maribor.

Under the title "market entry Germany" the German-Slovenian Chamber of Commerce invited Slovenian firms to Maribor. More than 40 people from local companies followed the invitation and informed about the legal and tax obligations of Slovenian companies, who are doing business in Germany. The Vice Manager of the Chamber, Simon Pöpperl, explained the economic situation in Germany and presented also the chances for Slovenian companies in Germany. Germany is the most important trading partner of Slovenia and especially Slovenian construction firms have many customers in Germany. The manager of the department "Tax & Legal" of the Chamber, Katja Stadler, presented in her lecture the support by German offical departments to Slovenian companies doing business in Germany.

With managing partner Matthias Winkler and certified tax specialist Marcel two WW+KN members participated in the event of the Chamber in Maribor. Certified Tax Advisor Matthias Winkler explained in his lecture the obligations of Slovenian companies in Germany according to the German-Slovenian Double Taxation Agreement. He explained especially the obligations after having a Permanent Establishment in Germany. Winkler also presented the registration obligations for employees in Germany and the possibilities for an exemption from the German withholding taxes for construction and building firms (Bauabzugsteuer). Also some special VAT rules for consignment stocks of Slovenian companies in Germany were explained.
